The 6-Pack Abs Lie
We've All Bought Into
Let's start from square one...
Regardless of what your body fat percentage is, you have these muscles. 👆 You came out of the womb with them, and lowering your body fat percentage doesn't mean you will produce additional abdominal muscles.
Challenge is... most people can't see their abs because they look something like this 👇
Most people have layers of fat covering their abdominal muscles... layers thick enough to completely disguise these muscles when looking at the body.
Now, here's where we go WRONG...
We think the way to reveal the abdominals is by doing abdominal exercises. Seems logical enough, right?

Well, while doing ab exercises will certainly strengthen and define the abdominal muscles, ab exercises are not effective at removing the layers of fat to reveal those stronger and more defined abdominal muscles.
Here's where we go RIGHT. When we understand...
We will reveal the abdominal muscles we already have when we reduce the size of the fat layers covering those muscles.

Reducing fat is accomplished by FIRST eating in a caloric deficit (eating less food)

and SECOND, if needed, doing cardiovascular exercise to burn more calories, allowing us to enter the caloric deficit necessary to burn fat.
This is great news. This means we can potentially have 6-pack abs without doing 1 ab exercise. Not even 1 crunch. Music to the ears, I know.
Last thing, your abdominal muscles will still be YOUR abdominal muscles.

We are all born with a unique genetic structure. Your bone structure is uniquely yours. Your musculature is uniquely yours, etc.

Some people naturally have a big chest based on their genetic structure. Some people naturally have tiny calves based on their genetic structure (aka me).

Some people naturally have thick abdominals and some do not. While this can be influenced to our favor, we must first accept that we will not be able to work our way towards somebody else's abdominals.

I see many beginners buying into the false belief that we can eventually have abdominal muscles that look EXACTLY like a person's abdominals whom we admire. I bought into this false belief myself...
...Notice how these two shredded dudes have abdominals that look different?

That's what I mean. The abdominal muscles are shaped and inserted on our frame in a unique way... again, based on our genetic structure.

When you reduce your body fat percentage and see your abs, they will look great. I guarantee it.

And they will be uniquely yours.
